I remember this book being bought by a teacher at school when I was about nine. The teacher allowed us to borrow it in rotation, and the popularity of the book meant that I only had it for two days. It blew me away. It was so gross, and despicable that I loved it. I'm looking forward to reading it again for the BBC Big Read.
