Who is stalking Seffi Callard, the world's most fashionable spiritualist medium - now a paranoid recluse at her father's Cotswold home? Her old mentor Marcus Bacton, editor of an ailing journal of the paranormal, sends his assistant Grayle Underhill to try and establish the truth, unaware that he's thrusting them both into a nightmare. Along with Bobby Maiden, a police detective whose approach to his job has been changed forever by a near-death experience, they find themselves in the path of a vicious career-criminal for whom getting rich is less important than never getting dead.

This is the second book written by Phil Rickman under the name Will Kingdom. The first one was a real struggle for time, and took me a year of on and off reading to finally get through it. It's a shame I got to read the story in such bitty chucks because it was so good, which is why I bought the sequel. I'm hoping that this will be even better than the first book, as much of the scene setting was already done.
