There's no back of the book info for this book, so instead I'll tell you what the BBC Big Read Book of Books says about Bridget.

Bridget begins with a list of New Year resolutions, including "I WILL go to the gym three times a week not merely to by sandwich". Her diary for the ensuing year records her battle against eating too much and smoking too much - and the progress of her love life. The story is a classic love triangle. Bridget's mother tries to pair her off with barrister Mark Darcy, seemingly a bit of a stuffed shirt. Bridget shows no interest and instead embarks on an affair with Daniel Cleaver, her flirtatious boss. As Bridget's personal and professional life lurch between triumph and disaster, she relies on friends for help, advice and Chardonnay. The story echoes Pride and Prejudice, as Fielding openly acknowledged; "I shamelessly stole the plot. I thought it had been v. well market-researched over a number of centuries".

So I always knew it would come to this, but I didn't think it would be so soon! I requested Edge of Reason from a BookCrosser, and after a few pages of enjoying it (no really!) I thought I'd read them in order...so I bought the two together. I was going to read this as part of the BBC Big Read, but I may have to bump it up my to read list and get into it before then.
